the line that reads HHC TRP.TRP.2/17CAV should read HHT, 2/17 CAV, and then denote them as UH-1.

also, an idea, denote the GROUND ELEMENT as BLUES where every other plt has aircraft...the Cav further muddied the water by calling AH as the red bird, OH as the white bird and UH as the blue bird, the ground element rode on the blue bird, hence were known as the Blues.

Does anyone know the callsign for the HHT slicks?  If so, give Randy a call

And that's why they called it a PINK team. Because RED and WHITE make PINK! Ha, Ha! Years have come and gone, and now I know. A snake and a loch. I never could figure that out. What an enlightenment!

... about HHT 2/17th Call Sign. I maybe mistaken but I think it may have been Saber. Saber 6 was the Squadron CO.

I arrived in country 3/69 with the brand new B Troop fresh from the states. We were stationed at Camp Eagle with HHT, until we were sent OPSCON to Americal for three months and were stationed in the beautiful, downtown Chu Lai and Tam Ky. If I remember correctly. C Troop was stationed at LZ Sally and A Troop was at Camp Evans. These were all base camps and each unit had forward perating areas depending where we were operating. That is what the cav was known for, MOBILITY.

B Troop 2/17th Cav Association
